Decision Time >> Final Proposition

My project revolves around the concept of time ‘passing  you by’. I proposed to head to the Wellington waterfront and capture people lost in a moment, while the world carried on around them; exploring the two different paces of time, of life at that moment, within the one frame.  The juxtaposition of the still scenery and person(s) with the fast pace of those around them portrays how at that moment in time, time has stood still for some people while it continues to rush by for others. I want the viewer to wonder what they have going on; what they are thinking about; what they are doing. I wanted to capture the idea that the perception of time is unique to each of us, for while Newtonian time (seconds, minutes, hours) will continue forwards, it is possible to slow down our personal time – just for a few moments – and take time out as we let the rush of everyday life pass us by.
